I'm a software developer from Vancouver, Canada, who is passionate about always learning. I earned my first degree in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University, where I gained skills in data analysis, experimental design, and using creative thinking to fine-tune athletic performance.
After graduating and working in healthcare, I pursued another passion of mine - teaching English. I worked as a teacher for five years, three of which were in a classroom with up to 25 students. During this time, I developed strong communication and problem-solving skills by learning to explain concepts in ways that resonated with each individual student. This environment also improved my teamwork ability, as my fellow teachers and I would regularly work together, designing lessons and sharing our areas of expertise to help one another.
Software development has always been an interest of mine, and in January of 2023, I decided to pursue it as a career by enrolling in computer science at Simon Fraser University. Throughout the program, my passion for the field has only grown and I am excited for what the future holds. My background in Kinesiology and teaching has enabled me to become a better developer and the skills gained from both have been invaluable. When I'm not at my computer developing, you'll likely find me hiking in the mountains or playing piano.
